Ms. Kylie Deegenaars

Reading Intervention Specialist and Primary Teacher

Ms. Kylie is a qualified teacher with 9 years’ international experience, working within a wide range of educational settings. She was born in Sydney, Australia, where she completed her dual degree - Bachelor of Arts with a Bachelor of Education (Primary), as well as a Diploma in Welfare and Community Services.

Prior to joining the CLC team in Cayman Ms. Kylie worked for several organisations in Australia and England, where she had the opportunity to experience a variety of diverse and challenging learning environments. During this time, she focused on the academic and social development of students with additional learning needs, as well as students with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Her passion for working with children with diverse educational needs motivated her to specialise in literacy intervention, and led to her recently completing the Wilson Reading System training. She is currently extending her certification and professional development in this area, and will be leading the Wilson program at Cayman Learning Centre from September 2017.

Ms. Kylie’s teaching philosophy combines a strong commitment to helping her students reach their full learning potential, with the drive to achieve outstanding results both in her classroom and through the Wilson program.
